Robert "Alvin" Frady, age 68, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born April 22, 1948 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Robert Frady and Velvia Arrowood Frady Jones. Alvin retired from Duke Power and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. He enjoyed restoring old cars, fishing, going to the lake and was known for his wit and sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his step-father, Ed Jones and two brothers, Arnold Frady and Eugene Jones.
Survivors include his life companion of twenty-two years, Brenda Salmon; one daughter, Angie Quinn (Marcus) of Cliffside; son Robin Frady (Ashlea) also of Cliffside; brother, Max Jones (Jenny) of Chesnee; five grandchildren, Kayla Frady Beheler (Ryan), Phillip Duncan, Dillon Deese (Lindsay), Jonathan Quinn, Landon Greene and three great-grandchildren, Aden Duncan, Talon Beheler and Kaisley Beheler. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Kay Davis Frady McClain; Brenda's daughter, Stephanie Mitchell of Forest City and grandchild, Brandon Mitchell.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole and Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
