Robert Kennedy

Robert Paul Kennedy, age 75, of Ellenboro, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence.
Born April 24, 1939 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Paul M. Kennedy and Ollie Grant Kennedy. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. He owned and operated a rug mill for many years and worked in textiles as an equipment repair technician. He also was a certified welder and machinist. Robert enjoyed working on tractors and especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Beaty Kennedy and daughter, Kimberly Ann Kennedy.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy Jennings and husband, Doug; son, Alan Kennedy and wife, Nichole all of Ellenboro; two grandsons, Brandon Jennings and Jace Kennedy; granddaughter, Emily Jennings; two sisters, Melba Horn and Nancy Walker both of Ellenboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Passmore and Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
