Robert David Woch was born January 21, 1938 in Bath, NY. On August 2, 2023 at 85 years old, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bob was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce A. (Payne) Woch, parents Peter Woch and Wanda (Zuckoski) Woch, and sister Margaret Carlson, and his precious grandson Jason M. Willsey.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Debra (Robert) Willsey and Donna (Timothy) Fries; Granddaughter-in-law, Katelyn Willsey; Grandsons, Jordan (Christina) Willsey, Jared (Tasha) Fries, Zachary (Loraine) Fries, Bryan (Jackie) Fries, and Thomas Fries; Great grandchildren, Abigail Willsey, Haley Willsey, Samuel Willsey, Ruby Willsey, and George Willsey; sisters, Francis Given and Dolores Wood.
Bob was raised in Bath, NY and at age 19 began an apprenticeship at Corning Glass Works. He retired as a Machinist in the Research and Development Department at Corning Glass.
During the years he lived in Monterey, NY, Bob was a Special Deputy, as well as a Volunteer Firefighter for 25 years, serving as Fire Chief for 4 years.
He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, camping, and restoring old cars. He had a passion for working on vehicles which began with his very first car, a 1941 Ford.
Bob always adored his canine companions. He had several German Shepherds over the years, but in recent years he enjoyed the company of Border Collies, Mindy and Major.
In 2000, Bob relocated and North Carolina became his home. The past several years, he was a part of the Crestview Baptist church family in Forest City, NC. He enjoyed the times he was a part of the choir and various other areas of church fellowship. During his recent illness, he was unable to attend services which he greatly missed.
A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
