Rocky Turner, age 41, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his residence.
Born February 8, 1976 in Rutherford County, he is the son of Marshall and Peggy Turner who reside in Forest City. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1995. He also received an Associate's degree from Isothermal Community College and was a graduate of the Basic Law Enforcement Training academy. Rocky worked as a maintenance manager of Sterling Oaks and Heritage Village apartments. He also worked for Cone Jacquards for many years. Rocky was a gifted carpenter, dry wall and flooring installer, plumber and electrician. He used his home remodeling skills to be a blessing to anyone who needed help. He loved his family dearly and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He was also a dedicated member of Piney Mountain Baptist Church where he faithfully served.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Luke Turner; maternal grandmother, Sarah Trotter Wilson and paternal grandfather, Billy D. Turner.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Joy Ruppe Turner; two daughters, Grace Turner and Katie Turner both of the home; one sister, Keisha Duncan of Forest City; paternal grandmother, Nancy Geraldine Bailey of Forest City and his father and mother in-law, Alfred and Elaine Ruppe of Polk County. He is also survived by three nephews, Austin Turner, Preston James and Brock Duncan; three nieces Sarah Duncan, Karah Ruppe and Malarie Ruppe.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Piney Mountain Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Padgett, Reverend Danny McCain and Reverend Brian Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
