Rosie L. Hunt, age 90, of Bostic, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Fair Haven Home of Forest City.
Born March 5, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Arthur Blankenship and Florence Franklin Blankenship. Rosie worked in textiles for several years and was a homemaker. She was a long time member of the First Broad Baptist Church and took pleasure in babysitting and taking care of children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lee Hunt; son, Teddy Ray Hunt, Sr., daughter, Carolyn Hunt Lytle; grandson, Joseph "Bubba" Hunt: two step-sons, L.C. Hunt and Carl Hunt; two step-daughters, Blanche Causby and Betty Sue Varnell; two sisters, Della Blankenship and Dot Bradshaw; three brothers, Jack, Clevie and Clarence Blankenship.
Survivors include three sons, Joe Melvin Hunt and wife, Judy, Larry Hunt and Jerry Hunt all of Bostic; step-daughter, Nellie Hicks of Albuquerque, New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren which includes her caretaker and grandson, Charles Hunt, twenty-six great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the First Broad Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Battle, Reverend Kevin Towery and Reverend Robert Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
