Ruby Holland

Ruby Hawkins Holland, age 92, of Statesville, NC, died September 21, 2009 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
Ruby was born on October 1, 1916 in Cleveland County to the late Albert Hawkins and Ella Greenway Hawkins. She worked for Burlington Industries as a cloth inspector for over 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed woodcarving and was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Statesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Holland and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Milstead of Statesville; two sons, Paul Holland and his wife, Helen, of Richfield, NC and Billy Holland and his wife, Katherine, of Rocky Mount, NC; one brother, Sam Hawkins of Sandy Mush. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
