Ruby "Jean" Haithcox Hodge Ingold

Ruby “Jean” Haithcox Hodge Ingold, age 86, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Accordius Health-Rutherford.

Jean was born Tuesday, July 7, 1936 in Randolph County, NC to the late Dewitt Haithcox and May Harris Haithcox. She worked in textiles for over thirty years before retirement. Most recently as a supervisor for the Highlander Mill. Jean was a faithful member of Long Branch Road Baptist Church where she served as a choir member. She enjoyed sewing, oil painting and making dolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ingold; son Donald Grant Hodge; grandson, Brodie Justice; five brothers, Jessie Haithcox, Bennie Lee Haithcox, Herbert Haithcox, Bill Haithcox, Arlie Rash and two sisters, Louise East and Annie Mae Haithcox Frazier.

Left to cherish fond memories are her daughter, Denise Hodge of Forest City; grandsons, Christopher Hodge and Steven Hodge; five great-grandchildren, Landon Hodge, Dylan Hodge, Brandon Green, William Hodge, Emery Alicia Hodge and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in Liberty, NC. The body will lie in state at Bethany United Methodist Church from 3:30 until 4:30 pm on Tuesday prior to the interment in the church cemetery.
