Ruby Wilson Tate, age 78, of Mooresboro, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Ruby was born Thursday, November 4, 1943 in Gaston County to the late E.P. Wilson and Thelma Haynes McMahan. She served as a registered nurse for over forty years. Having worked at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Cleveland Regional Medical Center and most recently for Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Ruby had the heart of a caretaker and desired to be God’s hands to the hurting. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated mother to her three sons. Ruby was a faithful member of the New Covenant Church of God in Ellenboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, Jonah Roger Tate; stepfather, James McMahan; brother, Jerry Wilson and sisters, Yvonne Plyler and Shirley Wilson.
Left to cherish fond memories are her sons, Darren Keith Moore (Riki Silvers) of Cliffside, Christopher Todd Moore (Shannon) of Pennington Gap, Virginia and Kevin Paul Moore of Cliffside; sister, Deena McMahan Loftis (Donnie) of Gastonia; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her beloved pet dog, Sophie.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Ruby’s life.
