Ruth Bright

Ruth Bright, age 83, of Forest City, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born January 21, 1934 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Gene Melton and Sarah Irene Bridges Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Freeman Guffey; second husband, George Clifford Hollifield; third husband, Wilbert Bright; sister, Evelyn London; and stepson, George Hollifield, Jr.
She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Kimberly Tesseneer and husband Mike, Kip Hunt and husband William; four brothers, David Melton and wife Thelma, Bill Melton and wife, Evelyn, Jerry Melton and wife Ann, Steve Melton and wife Gay; two sisters, Carolyn Luckadoo and husband Charles, Ann Russ and husband Wayne; two step-children, Teddy Hollifield and Carol Schultz. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Clint Hooper and Jennifer, Adam Bumgardner and Marque, Isaac Bumgardner, Sarah Bumgardner, Dylan McNeilly, Laura Hunt, Kayla Hollifield, Nathan Hollifield, Shelly Hollifield; and eight great-grandchildren, Auston, Alyssa, Jerrell, Sixx, Eleven, Aiden, Lewis, and Fariah.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be private for the family.
