Ruth Haulk

Ruth Bright Haulk, age 89, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Oakland Living Center.
Born May 11, 1924 in Rutherford County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ervin Bright and Donia Lakern Guffey Bright. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Sulphur Springs Congregational Holiness Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Ruth also enjoyed taking walks and was known for her delicious biscuits.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl William Haulk and by two daughters, Nancy Harris and Gail Gowan.
Survivors include one son, Jake Haulk and wife, June of Fletcher, NC; two daughters, Janice Keever of Forest City and Holly Bland and husband, Phillip of Princeton, NC; brother, Charles Bright, Jr. of North Carolina; two sisters, Mavis Bridges of Forest City and Joann Hodge of Ellenboro. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Sulphur Springs Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Phillip Bland, Reverend Brian Brock and Reverend David Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A public viewing and receiving of friends will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.
Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of choice.
