Ryan Melton

Ryan “Chad” Melton, age 43, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Chad was born on November 13, 1977 in Rutherford County to Reverend Alvin Melton, Jr. who resides in Gastonia and the late Vicky Melton.  He had a passion for music, sports, and fishing.  Chad was known for his jovial personality and was always laughing and joking. He always knew how to lighten the moment. More than anything, Chad loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Melton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Kaylee Melton and Corry Melton; father, Rev. Alvin Melton Jr. (Pat); brother, Alan Melton (Crystal) and sister, Angela Burgess (Bobby) all of Gastonia. He is also survived by a host of extended family members.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Phillip Kiser officiating.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
