Sharon Greene

Sharon “Marlene” Greene, age 71, of Lawndale, NC, died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her residence.

Marlene was born October 1, 1948 in Gaston County to the late Mack Lewis and Virginia Lewis Painter. She was a graduate of Chase High School and was of the Baptist faith. Marlene worked thirty years for PPG Industries until retirement. She loved taking care of her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Marlene was a caring and giving person.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Greene and a sister, Geraldine Shedd.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Scott Greene (Hannah) of Henrietta; brother, Richard Lewis of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Tylon Greene (Kalla) of Forest City, Bryson Greene of Henrietta, Destiny Ledford Greene of Ellenboro and great-grandson, Leo Greene. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chad Roach officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. A committal service will be held at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery following the service.
