Shirley Denny

Shirley Miller Denny, age 79, of Forest City, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her residence.
Born December 5, 1938 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late D.L. Green and Montie Hines Green. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Isothermal Community College. Shirley worked for various area textile mills. She currently was attending Grace Chapel of Forest City and enjoyed writing poetry, watching wrestling and making sweet treats for others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rex Earl Miller and William Denny; one son, Craig Miller; daughter, Chris Miller; two sisters, Reba Hicks and Betty Millis and a grandson, Rex Miller.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Gregg Miller and wife, Maxine of Forest City; two grandchildren, Clifford Palmeri (Amy) of Henrietta and Ashley Stamper (Chris) of Forest City; three step-daughters, Linda Ridge, Anna Hinton (Ron) and Mary Everman all of Anderson, Indiana; two step-sons, Jim Denny of Verbena, Alabama and Bill Denny (Tracy) also of Anderson, IN. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, four nephews and a number of step-nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Grace Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. A private burial will be held in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery the morning of the service date.
