Shirley Landis

Shirley Fredell Landis, age 68, of 341 Tanner's Grove Road, Forest City, NC passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. She was born April 4, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Everett Pressley Fredell and Vernie Chapman Fredell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Milan Curtis Landis and a son, Steven Curtis Landis. She retired from PPG after having worked for over 30 years. Shirley was a lifetime member of Alexander United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Rita Gosey of Forest City, NC; two brothers, Johnny Fredell of Mooresboro, NC and Roger Fredell and wife Mary Ann of Casar, NC; four sisters, Ann Neely and husband Bill of Ellenboro, NC, Sue Hubbard of Mooresboro, NC, Helen Powell and husband Larry of Ellenboro, NC and Jane Coggins and husband William of Ellenboro, NC; three grandchildren, Dena Baynard of Harris NC, Misty Gosey of Forest City, NC and Casey Landis of Forest City, NC; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Eloy Alba.
