Shirley Ledford

Shirley F. Ledford, age 78, of Hames Ridge Road, Mooresboro, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Born April 2, 1940 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late C.H. Davis and Ila Smith Davis. She worked for Stonecutter mill for several years and was a homemaker and caretaker for the family. Shirley enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over forty years, Gaston Ledford; grandson, Tyler Ledford; two brothers, Bud and Chub Davis and a sister, Betty Wilkie.
Survivors include her son, Marc Ledford and wife, Cheryl of Forest City; grandson, Marcus Ledford and wife, Megan of Forest City; brother, Paul Davis of Forest City and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
