Shirley Butler Bailey

Shirley Butler Bailey, age 76, of Forest City, went to her heavenly home Friday, August 5, 2022.

Shirley was born Thursday, August 1, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Robert Guy Butler and Frankie Ola Bailey Butler. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1964. Shirley faithfully served as Assistant Deputy Clerk in the Rutherford County Clerk of Courts office until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Roy Bailey; son, Roger Bailey and wife, Tonya; daughter, Lora Crowder and husband, Steven. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her beloved pet, Dolly.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Carnell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church sanctuary. The family asks that face masks be worn by all attendees.
