Steve "Seawood" Dyer

Steve “Seawood” Dyer, age 76, of Forest City, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at his residence.

Steve was born Tuesday, September 18, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late Elisha Dyer and Evelyn Powell Dyer. He was a truck driver and was the owner and operator of Steve Dyer Trucking for several years. Steve also worked as a lineman for Duke Power and Sumter Utilities. He was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda M. Dyer; son, John Maness and a sister, Paulette Dyer.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughter, Nancy Humphries of Forest City; three sons, Harold Dean Maness of Forest City, James Maness (Renee) of Roebuck, SC and Vick Maness (Kathy) of Forest City; brother, Mike Dyer (Wanda) of Forest City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In honor of Steve’s wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
