Sue Brooks Frye, age 86, of Mooresboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
Sue was born Wednesday, May 16, 1934 in Ellenboro to the late Fay Monroe Brooks and Mary Rogers Brooks. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Cliffside Elementary and drove a school bus for many years. She loved cooking for her family and was known by all as a remarkable cook. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and had a “green thumb.” Sue was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro and looked forward to attending each service. She enjoyed shopping at Dollar General, but more than anything she loved being on her tractor and working alongside her husband and three sons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Joe Clayton Frye; one brother, Fay Jr. Brooks and dear friend, Maurice Houser.
Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Rick Frye (Karen), of Shelby, Craig Frye (Lynn) of Alabama, Jeff Frye (Lisa) of California; grandchildren, Jessica Hensley (Gary), Chris Frye (Sandra), Danielle Frye, Rebecca Huetson (Peter), Emily Frye, Nathaniel Frye (Beth Ann), Hayden Frye, Griffen Frye; and nine great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresboro with Reverend Kevin Hamrick officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
