Thomas Carnes

Thomas Carnes, age 45, of Wallace Road, Ellenboro, NC passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at his home. He was born December 16, 1962, in Mecklenburg County. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter 'Buck' Eugene Carnes who died in 1993 and his grandparents, Shufford and Kathleen Carnes and Roy and Beaulah Dawkins. Thomas was a member of the Piney Mountain Baptist Church in Ellenboro. He was an independent trucker for over 25 years. He loved to paint and do craftwork.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Carnes, of the home, one stepson, Chris Stamey of the home, his mother, Ruth Hurdt of Lilesville, NC, three brothers, Rudy Carnes and wife Pamela of Rockingham, NC, Jon Carnes of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Lennie Hurdt and wife Katie of Forest City; three nieces, Amanda Smith, Cara Carnes, and Catie Carnes and one nephew, Joe Carnes.
