Thomas Mercer

Thomas Lewis Mercer, age 75, of Spindale, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born April 7, 1940 in Haywood County, NC, he was a son of the late Ralph Mercer and Addie Mathis Mercer. He worked for Shelby Asphalt and Mercer Trucking for several years and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed watching Three Stooges movies and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vina Mercer; two sisters, Esther Mercer and Betty Lanning and brother, William Mercer.
Survivors include four sons, Allen Mercer, Frank Dale, Jimmy Worley and Michael Mercer; five daughters, Barbara Mercer, Jeanelle Mercer, Regina Mercer, Tabitha Mercer and Renee Moyers. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
