Timmons Clinton Holland (T.C.), age 95, of 1234 Chase Highway, Forest City, North Carolina, died from natural causes at Hospice House on June 8, 2008
Timmons was born on July 2, 1912, the son of the late Timmons Clinton Holland, Sr. (Son of Major Leander Austin Holland) and Missouri Bridges (daughter of Marcus and Madoro Bridges). T. C. and O'Lema Margaret Gordon Holland have lived in the homeplace of T. C.'s grandfather, Marcus Bridges and grandmother, Madoro Shuford Bridges for the past thirty-one years, The home was constructed over 100 years ago by Marcus Bridges using his sawmill products to build the home. T. C. was a charter member of Chase Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday school and Bible school teacher, a choir member, usher, and was the construction supervisor for the building of the church in 1959.
T. C. is survived by his wife of 69 years, O'Lema Gordon Holland and by his youngest brother, Joseph Craig Holland of Marietta, GA; three sisters, Edyth Van Fossen, Mae Wilson Harris, Margaret Stone and a brother, Marcus preceded him in death.
T. C. has five surviving children. Two daughters, Peggy Holland Bracket and husband Tim L. Brackett of Forest City and Patricia Dawkins Collins and husband John Collins of Ware Shoals, SC; three sons, Donald Eugene Holland and wife Paulette, Ray Hugh Holland, and James Nelson Holland and wife Janice all of the Forest City area. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a number of nieces & nephews.
