Tony Stamper

Tony Stamper, age 63, of Mooresboro, NC, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Hospice Unit at Charles George Veterans Hospital in Asheville.
Born July 25, 1955 in Davidson County, NC, he was the son of the late Glenn D. Stamper and Odessa Smith Stamper. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Tony enjoyed watching sports, doing laundry and drinking coffee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Claudia.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Wright and husband, Jon of Ellenboro and Kacey Lee and husband, Jason of Bostic; two sons, Stacey Stamper and Toby Stamper both of Pickens, SC; three sisters, Glenda, Carol and Darlene; two brothers, Pete and Melvin. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Aaron Wright, Hannah Wright, Katlyn Wright, Jeremy Anderson and Valery Lee.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Paul Willis officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at noon on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Western Carolina Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain.
Memorial donations are respectfully requested to the Charles George VA Hospice Unit, 1110 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
