Traci Lee Simmons

Traci Lee Simmons, age 51, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center.

Traci was born Sunday, October 10, 1971 in Cleveland County to the late Roy Lee Ramsey and Barbara Alexander Haigler. She was a graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School, class of 1990 and received an Associates Degree from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College. Traci was a certified Day Care Provider and worked at the Irene Wortham Center in Asheville for many years. She was a member of Grace Chapel of Forest City. Traci’s passion was her grandchildren and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Ramsey Murray.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joseph Simmons; son, Keenan Ramsey (Brianna Lovejoy) of Forest City; daughters, Onterra Neal (Kevin Smith) of Concord, NC and Jonisha Logan of Asheville; sister, Pam Gowan of Forest City; a nephew, Josh Tran of Ellenboro. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Areiah Ramsey, Karson Ramsey, Kamden Ramsey, Kaydin Ramsey, Journi McDowell, Tydre Murray and Kevin Smith, Jr.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 4th at Grace Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
