Tracy Yelton

Tracy Yelton, age 82, of Spindale, NC, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville.
Born April 17, 1933 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Floyd Yelton and Pantha Taylor Yelton. Tracy was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He worked as an independent truck driver, mostly hauling cars. He was a member of Southern Baptist Church. Tracy was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. He was a Shriner and active in the Scottish Rite.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Ward and son, Douglas Yelton; brother, James Yelton and infant brother, Earl Yelton.
Survivors include his son Todd Yelton and wife, Brenda of Charlotte; sister, Shirley Dyer of Boiling Springs, SC; nine grandchildren and several nieces. He is also survived by many close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Perry officiating. Masonic Rites will be given by members of the lodge and military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard following the services in the chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Southern Baptist Church, 140 Church Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
