Troy Moore

Troy Mark Moore, age 90, of Forest City, NC, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
He was born September 7, 1928 in Caroleen, NC and was the son of the late James Edgar "Ed" Moore and Lela Bird Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Birdie Moore Ward and three brothers, Jesse Moore, James Moore and Jay Moore. He worked in textiles for five years, as an employee for Bill Owens Auto Parts for five years and for Lutz Yelton Oil Company for five years. After that, for the next twenty-three years, he and his cousins, Herbert and Dewey Pannell, owned and operated Pannell and Moore Oil Company. After selling the Oil Company he worked for his good friend J.P. Allen as a carpenter; and Scott Vending Company as a coffee salesman. He was an active lifetime member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. Troy's hobbies were bird hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Adams and numerous beloved and loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Caroleen United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Norma Roberts officiating. Members of the Methodist Men of Caroleen United Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
