Troy Lee Wallace Iii

Troy Lee Wallace III, infant son of Wendy Dedmon and the late Joshua Lee Wallace went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Catawba Medical Center in Hickory, NC.

During the ten days that Troy lived in this world he impacted a multitude of people. He will hold a place in their hearts forever. Troy was a “happy baby”, and he especially loved the kisses he received from those who deeply cared for him.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Troy Lee Wallace, Jr.; maternal great-grandfathers, Verge Dedmon and Roy Robbins; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Grizzle and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Lee Wallace, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Wendy Dedmon of Rutherfordton; siblings, Nathan Wallace, Dakota Holland, Nick Holland and Matasia Covington; maternal grandparents, Ray and Cookie Dedmon of Rutherfordton; maternal great-grandmothers, Louise Dedmon of Forest City and Ruby Robbins of Rutherfordton; paternal grandparents, Nancy Warner (Bob) of Greenwood, SC; two aunts, Jerrica Gillespie (Jeremy) of Liberty, SC and Anna Reid (Tyler) of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by five cousins, Josie Gillespie, Colt Reid, Regan Reid, Logan Reid and Tallie Jolley.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Memorial donations are requested to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mission Hospital, 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.  The family wishes to thank each staff member in the NICU for their love and compassion for Troy during his stay at the hospital.
