Velma Jackson

Velma Horton Jackson, age 80, of 258 Raleigh Ledbetter Road, Ellenboro, NC passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Rutherford Hospital. She was born November 27, 1927 in Rutherford County to the late George William Horton and Minnie Mae Horton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sumpter Horton, Will Horton, and Nink Horton; five sisters, Bonnie Jones, Myrtle Blanton, Vernie Fox, Tootie Camp, and Mae Ruth Hamrick. Velma was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church in Henrietta.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Jackson of the home, one son, Ronald Jackson and his wife Cindy of Newark, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brian Jackson and wife Melanie of Bowling Green, Ohio, Rhonda Anderson of Newark, Ohio, and Amanda Goff and husband Calvin of Columbus, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Christian Anderson, Nicholas Jackson, Kyle Jackson, and Ryan Jackson; two brothers, A. W. Horton of Forest City and Clarence Horton of Belmont, NC; and one sister, Violet Painter of Alva, FL.
