Velma Mcabee

Velma 'Tootsie' McAbee, age 69, of Old Wagy Road, Forest City, NC, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Hospice House.
Velma was born on October 1, 1942 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Dewey Robbins and Bonne Blackwell Robbins, formerly of Fingerville, SC. She was a homemaker and also worked for General Fireproofing for 21 years. She attended Forest Lake Baptist Church and enjoyed decorative painting, gardening, yard work and taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Robbins, Albert Robbins and Danny Robbins and by five sisters, Ruth Garland, Lucille Hawkins, Willie Robbins, Mary Robbins and Barbara Spangler.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Robert McAbee; one daughter, Annette Emory and husband, Joey of Shiloh Community; one grandson, Brent Emory of Shiloh; one granddaughter, Lacey Emory of Charlotte. She is also survived by one brother, Dentim Robbins and two sisters, Louise Gilbert and Francis Gwinn and husband, Mike all of Inman, SC.
