Vember Christine Allred Quinn, age 88, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Carillon Assisted Living in Shelby.
Born October 11, 1929 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Hoyle Allred and Fannie Daves Allred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Broadus L. Quinn; two brothers, Jewell Allred and Bobby Allred. She worked at Burlington Mills for 30 years and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church and former member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. She was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and member of the women's church groups. She enjoyed gardening, piano music and loved being a housewife.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Chris Tessnear and husband Terry of Alexis; one brother, Jerry Allred of Lattimore; two sisters, Opal Lowery and husband Wayne of Ellenboro, Rosie Nanney and husband Marvin of Mooresboro. She is also survived by one grandson, Matthew Tessnear and wife Molly of Shelby.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Entombment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cliffside Baptist Church; Caroleen United Methodist Church; Alzheimer's Association; Carillon Assisted Living - Shelby; or Hospice of Cleveland County.
