Mr. Victor Marcell Black, age 66, of 225 Andy Drive, Forest City, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Black was born October 23, 1940 to the late Ben Black and Ruthie Moore Black in Cherokee County, SC. He grew up in Shelby and lived in Rutherford County for the past 20 years. He worked as a warper and one of his favorite pastimes was drinking coffee at the Key Largo in Sandy Mush.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife Katherine Black of the home, two sons, Victor A. Black and Tony Black both of Shelby; a stepson, Brian Splawn of Forest City; three daughters, Brenda Carpenter and Donna Dority both of Shelby and Candie Frazier of Bostic; seven sisters, Julia Camp of Raeford, Janie Wilson and Bennie Moore both of Blacksburg, and Edna Cogdell, Louise Lovelace, Brenda Allen, and Carolyn Godinez all of Grover, SC; one brother, Paul Black of Grover; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
