Viola Ledford

Viola M. Ledford, age 88, of Forest City, NC, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Autumn Care of Forest City.
Viola was born August 6, 1924 in McDowell County, NC to the late Joel Harris and Sally Culbertson Harris. She worked in textiles most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and flowers. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Yates Ledford; one daughter, Judy Ledford; two sisters, Ruby Byrd and Minnie Gosnell and two grandchildren, Dana Fitch and Todd Fitch.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Cummings of Spindale; one sister, Vatrice Jackson of Rutherfordton; two grandchildren, Karen Theis of Shelby and David Barrett of Bostic. She is also survived by four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Eddie Fitch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
