Virginia Cochran

Virginia Louise Cochran of Rutherfordton, North Carolina died Friday, July 5, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Virginia was born June 8, 1933 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Rucker W. Dalton and Dolly Liverette Dalton. She was a homemaker, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother to many. Virginia was a member of Spindale United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Johnny William Cochran; two sons, Dennis Ray Cochran and Guy Edward Cochran; one sister, Nadene Lawson; three brothers, William Dalton, Frank Dalton and Eugene Dalton; three half-sisters, Lilly Sism, Pearl Wright, and Marie Jackson; and one half-brother, Ed Dalton.
Those left to treasure her memory include her children; Phyllis Coffey (Terry) of Ellenboro, Brenda Hoyle (William) of Bostic, Elizabeth Boone (Robert) of Rutherfordton, Jan Hicks of Rutherfordton, Johnny Lee Cochran (Beth) of Rutherfordton; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at Harrelson Funeral Chapel on July 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
