Vivian Margureite Hales, age 91, of Diamond Drive, Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Carolinas Health System-Cleveland in Shelby.
Born January 20, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Chirnitch and Loretta Hogan Chirnitch. When she was younger, she worked as a bookkeeper in auto sales. She was an avid gardener and was a member of various garden clubs including the African Violet Society of America. Vivian also enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clifford Leon Hales and three great-grandchildren, Phoebe Grace Hales, Phinn Ephraim Hales and Cole Noah Hales.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Suzanne Linda Hales of Ellenboro and a son, Kevin James Hales and wife, Cindy of East Haven, Connecticut; one brother, Joseph Chirnitch of Maine; seven grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Hales, Jonathan Michael Hales (Onalee), Michael Christopher Hales, James Hales, Edward Emmitt Hales, Mark Clifford Hales and four great-grandchildren, Emma Zoe Hales, Hosannah Grace Hales, Selah Mae Hales and Garrett Benjamin Hales.
No local services will be conducted. Inurnment will take place in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford, Connecticut on a later date.
