Walter Jenkins

Walter 'Dan' Jenkins, age 80, of Rutherfordton, died May 8, 2009 at White Oak Manor.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Walter Lattimore Jenkins and Cleo Childers Jenkins. He was a veteran who served our country in the U.S. Army and was a long-time member of Race Path Baptist Church. He owned and operated Henrietta TV and Repair for many years and loved to farm and raise cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Virginia Godfrey Jenkins; a brother, Frank Jenkins; his step-mother, Ann S. Jenkins; step-daughter, Linda Bostic and step-brother, Jack Stinson.
Survivors include his sister, Grace J. Scruggs of Henrietta, step-daughter, Gail Toney and her husband Sid of Forest City; step-son, Barry Bailey and his wife Sylvia of Chesnee, SC; step-sister, Carol Nethaway and her husband, Doug of Rutherfordton; sister in-law, JoAnn Jenkins of Dobbinsville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
