Wayne "Ronnie" Murray, Jr., age 40, of Mooresboro, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born March 18, 1975 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Wayne "Murph" Murray, Sr. and Barbara Ann Skipper who resides in Forest City. Ronnie was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1994 and worked at Cone Mill-Haynes Plant for several years. He was a cancer survivor who battled cancer for twenty-years. Ronnie attended Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, karaoke and dirt track racing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step-sister, Laverne G. Blanton.
Besides his mother survivors include his wife, Rosie Brooks Murray; step-mother, Gaynelle V. Murray of Mooresboro; daughter, Allison N. Murray of Mooresboro; son Matthew D. Murray of Duncan, SC; sister, Tammy Murray Nolen and husband, Arnold of Mooresboro; the mother of his daughter, Kelly Pearson and husband, Bill of Shiloh Community; the mother of his son, Shelley Gould and husband, Chris of Duncan, NC; step-sister, Kimberly Smith and husband, L.D. of Dry Fork, VA and step-brother, Derek Vipperman of Sutherlin, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Billy Poe Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC. The family wishes to thank the staff of hospice for their kindness, compassion and care for Ronnie during his illness.
