William Bowen

William "Donald" Bowen, age 79, of Ellenboro passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Hospice House following an extended illness. Mr. Bowen was born February 2, 1928 in Rutherford County to the late James William Bowen and Mary Roper Bowen. Mr. Bowen grew up in Rutherford and Cleveland counties. He was a rug manufacturer working at his own shop. He was Baptist in faith.

Mr. Bowen is survived by two sons, Alan Bowen and his wife Rita of Rutherfordton, NC, and Leon Bowen of Chester, SC; two daughters, Faye Toney of Rutherfordton, NC, and Debra Blanton and husband Joe of Ellenboro, NC; and one sister, Mary Lucy Yarbrough of Ellenboro, NC. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and by his children Paul Bowen, Eddie Bowen, and Shirley Bailey.
