William Lowe

William H. "Bill" Lowe, Sr., 87, of Hogan Road, Harris, passed away Monday morning at Hospice House in Forest City with family at his side.He was born March 13, 1920 in Great Falls, SC to the late Biron Henry and Othella Ruff Lowe. Mr. Lowe was a 1941 graduate of Clemson University and a WWII veteran having proudly served with General Patton in Africa and Europe. He was discharged as Captain in 1946.

Mr. Lowe worked for Burlington Industries as plant manager in Valley Falls and Cherokee Falls, SC until 1973. He then worked as a technical consultant with Hoechst-Celanese until his retirement in 1992.

Survivors include his son, Willie Lowe of Harris; daughters Helen L. Miller of Tampa, Barbara L. Stowell of Gaffney, and Grace L. Lindsey of Landrum; grandchildren Kenny Wunder of Fulton, MS, Willie Wunder of Tampa, and Kit Lindsey of Landrum. Also surviving is a brother, M. Leonard Lowe of Caroleen. One son, David Lee Lowe and two grandsons, Greg West and Don West formerly of Spartanburg will be waiting for him in heaven as well as two sisters, Edessel Neal and Helen Lowe.
