William "Bill" McEowen, age 74, of Forest City, North Carolina and Venice, Florida, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born July 25, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy W. McEowen and Elsie Lape McEowen. Bill was a crop and cattle farmer for many years in Greenville, Ohio and owned and operated Banco Welding in Sarasota, Florida. He also worked as a plant manager for Jones Chemicals in Mobile, Alabama for several years. He attended the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Greenville, OH. Bill enjoyed watching sports and was dedicated to his work.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Jane McEowen; son, Steven McEowen of Mason, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Motes and husband, James of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kennedy and Madison Motes.
A memorial service will be conducted at three o'clock on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Trent Keeton officiating. There will be a gathering of friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
