Willie F. Morrison

Willie F. Morrison, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Willie was born Sunday, July 23, 1933 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Robert E. Morrison and Esther Jane Ledford Morrison.

Willie enjoyed cooking country style food, keeping up with news and world affairs, and taking his family out to eat.  He was a loving caregiver to wife Beatrice even after they transitioned to Fair Haven Bostic in July, 2020.  They celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 25, 2020.

Willie loved singing gospel songs and hymns with Bea in the car, and in earlier days, in church. He continued singing at Fair Haven Bostic, after his daily prayers.  He sang in the ER at Rutherford Hospital, in ICU at Rutherford Hospital, and even arrived singing at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City at four a.m.  He sang and prayed until he could no longer do it.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Beatrice Goode Morrison; brothers, Nolan, David, John, Joe, Melvin Eugene Morrison and Willie’s twin brother, Bill Morrison and two sisters, Alda Morrison Crump and Catherine Morrison Luckadoo.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughter, Deborah Morrison Burgin of Rutherfordton and three sisters, Mozelle Morrison West of Gastonia, Gail Morrison Swofford of Mooresboro and Elizabeth Luckadoo of Rutherfordton.

A private celebration of life and burial will be at a later date.
