Yates Bostic, Sr.

Yates Webb Bostic, Sr., age 92, of Cliffside, passed away November 16, 2017 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.
Born March 29, 1925 in Cleveland County, NC, he was a son to the late John "Will" Bostic and Mary "Molly" Bostic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Yates worked for Cone Mill-Cliffside Plant for many years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He had the honor of serving as the Constable of Rutherford County for several years and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Roger Bostic; five brothers, Myles, Bill, Wade, Bob and John Bostic and one sister, Georgia Bostic Scott.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Rosa Lee Thrift Bostic; one daughter, Brenda Randolph and husband, Ray of Chesnee, SC; two sons, Richard David Bostic and wife, Pam of Raleigh, NC and Yates Webb Bostic, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Lexington, SC. He is also survived by one sister, Shirley Warner of Cliffside; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Interment will follow in Cliffside Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
